About the presentation

The format of the presentations will be different from the previous year due to the hybrid format. We decided to held this conference as an online conference. There will be oral and poster presentations.

1. Online oral presentation

Single session (50 minutes for oral presentation + 10 minutes for Q&A) and parallel session (25 minutes for oral presentation + 5 minutes for Q&A) are scheduled for oral presentations. Single sessions will be conducted via Zoom Webinar, and parallel sessions will be conducted via Zoom meeting. The single session will be open to all participants of the meeting. On the other hand, parallel sessions will be held at different venues in four different fields (analysis, algebra, geometry, and mathematics) based on the content of the research, and the speakers will belong to each field. The purpose of this workshop is to allow young researchers from various fields to interact with each other. For this reason, we would appreciate your cooperation in giving an introductory talk on the background and motivation of the research you are presenting, and what approach you are taking to the problem. Please note that the organizers will be in charge of assigning single/parallel sessions. Please be aware of this in advance. (Last year, there were 4 participants for single session and 66 participants for parallel session.)

2. Onsite oral presentation

The oral presentations of those who will give oral presentations on site will be streamed via Zoom so that online participants can see them.
We will contact you later with more details.

3. Poster presentation

For poster presentations, only online presentations will be accepted.

The poster session will be held on March 2 at 14:00 (JST), and participants will be asked to present their own research results in poster format. The current plan is to use breakout rooms in Zoom meetings as a means of organizing poster sessions online. Details will be added to the website as soon as they are determined. The poster session will be held on oVice. Posters will be displayed on oVice. Please use the screen share function of oVice for your presentation. During the conference, oVice will be available at all times, so please feel free to test the connection and check the functions. Also, there will always be a organizer in the room, so please feel free to talk to them if you need any help. You are free to choose the standard of your poster as it will be presented online, but you are requested to create a poster that contains the same amount of information as a regular A0 size poster. The total duration of the poster session will be about one hour. (There were 4 poster presenters in the last session and 10 in the previous session.) Poster presenters are requested to prepare their poster files at least one week in advance and submit them in advance. The submitted poster files will be shared via google drive for the duration of the workshop in a way that cannot be edited or downloaded by the participants of the meeting.

About travel expenses support

This workshop provides subsidies for travel expenses (transportation and accommodation) mainly for graduate students. However, if you are a speaker and cannot afford the travel expenses yourself, you can apply for a subsidy from the Department of Mathematics, Hokkaido University. If you would like to receive assistance with your travel expenses, please select "Yes" in the "Travel Expenses" section when you register by e-mail.

To audience

Auditing is only available online.

If you are an audience member, please fill out the following form in advance. There will be a certain number of participants for online due to the limited number of participants allowed. We will ask the speaker to submit a technical report as soon as the format (single, parallel, poster) is decided. Further information will be provided through e-mail as soon as the format is decided. (Tentative date: )

We will not distribute paper format of Hokkaido University Techinical Report Series in Mathematics. The technical reports will be displayed in the website. If needed, you will be able to download them and print them.
