The 17th Mathematics Conference for Young Researchers

To speakers and audience

About the presentations

We propose two methods of presentation for speakers: orally or on the poster.
  1. oral presentations

We prepare single sessions (oral presentation(50min) + Q&A(10min)) and parallel sessions (oral presentation(25min) + Q&A(5min)) on oral presentations. We will run single sessions on Zoom Video Webinar (https://zoom.us/webinar), and parallel sessions on Zoom meetings. Speakers in single sessions will present their topics to all participants in this conference. On the other hand speakers in parallel sessions will talk to each of audiences in four online sites separated by branches of mathematics: algebra, analysis, geometry and mathematical sciences (application). The main purpose of this conference is communications among young researchers in various fields, so we would like presenters to start lectures with introductory topics such as bachgrounds and motivations of the researches and the ways you deal with problems in your studies. Furthermore please understand that the division of speakers between single sessions and parallel sessions will be conducted by administrators (last year, 4 lecturers spoke in single sessions and 78 lecturers did in parallel sessions).

  2. poster sessions

poster sessions will be held in the afternoon at 2nd day, and the speakers present their result in research on (a or a few) posters. We held this conference online, so presenters can choose poster standards freely, but we require that the contents of posters are within the amount of infomation equivalent to what you can write on A0 paper. We will run poster session on Remo(https://remo.co/). In Remo, "the table"s are prepared for each speakers, and participants(speakers and audiences) in the same table can communicate with each other. all participants can also go back and forth among all tables. The total time of poster session will be about an hour (Last year, 10 speakers presented on poster sessions). We would like presenters to prepare their posters and submit to organizers a week before this conference, and we will share submitted posters with participants via Google drive (only browsing, downloading unavailable).

Application as an audience has been closed by February 27th. Thank you so much for much of your interest!

About the issue of technical report series

The contents of all talks (including poster session) of this conference will be displayed in Hokkaido University Techinical Report Series in Mathematics. We will ask the speaker to submit a technical report as soon as the format (single, parallel, poster) is decided. Further information will be provided through e-mail as soon as the format is decided. (Tentative date: )

We will not distribute paper format of Hokkaido University Techinical Report Series in Mathematics. The technical reports will be displayed in the website. If needed, you will be able to download them and print them.

Technical reports further details

  • A4 size pdf file between 2 and 10 pages.
  • Japanese recommended (English also allowed)
  • This conference aims for interaction between lots of fields. Please include introduction and write in an easy to understand way.

About publication of the program

We will publish the contents of each talk (name, title, abstract, technical report) in this website. We kindly ask for your understanding.
