We discuss a reconstruction procedure for nondestructivetestings for half-line multilayer media. We considerhalf-line media which consist of many kinds of substances. We can directly observe the data near the boundary of thehalf-line, however we cannot directly observe the data ofthings away from the boundary. In this situation, we try toguess the unknown data by the following experiments which iscalled the nondestructive testings: We first create anartificial explosion at a certain point near the boundary.Waves generated by this explosion travel in the media. Thenwe observe the waves at the boundary, and reconstruct the unknowndata from the observation data. This problem is formulated as aninverse problem of partial differential equations.
