PDE seminar: Some Results of the pattern formation in the two-dimensional excitable media

Recently, many researchers are interesting in the wave
propagation in the excitable media. In general, they study
this phenomenon by some reaction-diffusion system like
FitzHugh-Nagumo system. In this talk, first, I would like to
explain the mechanism of the appearence of spiral wave
by using the wave interaction model proposed by Zykov in
2009. Next, I will show the existence and uniqueness of
the traveling spot by the interface equation derived from
the singular limit method. Finally, I give some numerical
results for the rotating spot.
