Abstract: Mirror symmetry has been a driving force in geometry and physics
for twenty years. Recently, there are some surprising developments in
connection to number theory. The center of attention is the so called the modular
form, a central topic in number theory. Traditionally, we apply mirror
symmetry to map a difficult problem to an easy problem. The recent advance on the
modular form requires a join force from both sides of mirror symmetry. In the
talk, I will explain these exciting developments.
