Mr Masaki Kasedo in University of Valencia

The University of Valencia is located in Burjassot, which is a suburb of Valencia. In this place, the weather is warmer than Sapporo and it rains a little. I am staying here for about two months to study at the University of Valencia.

Valencia is a one of the biggest cities in Spain. If you move in this city, it is convenientce to use the bus, metro (subway) and tram. I think that Valencia is a safer place than any other big cities in Spain. There are many tourists in the center of the city, but there are few Japanese people.

Plaza de toros is famous for bull fighting, which is near the North Station.

Here there are many festivals. I saw dressed up people marching on the main street. It's like a history of the mid-age. Moreover there are many kinds of museums and some of them are free to enter all weekends. The symbol of this city is Torres de Quart and the Torres de Serranos.

Parade was held near my residence. There were too many peoples. some of them were sitting on chairs placed along sidewalks.

In Valencia, we have break fast during 7:00 to 10:30, and lunch is usually about 2:00 p.m. At lunch, we enjoy talking. On weekends, young people like to have a big party, which is called Fiesta. They dance from the midnight to the next morning or afternoon.

[Daily life]
I think that the price of living here is cheaper than Japan. Food is good price, and we have many kinds of fruits. We can also have rice, because Valencia is famous for paella. But most of the products of the electricity are more expensive than Japan. There are some big shopping centers, where we can go by bus. But most of the shops are closed on Sundays.

[University and research]
I go to the Iinstitute of Mathematics on weekdays. Here, I am studying the differential geometry of non Euclidean space and related conformal geometry. I am advised by Professor Romero-Fuster. I share studying room with my friend. It is a pity that we cannot go into the building on weekends.
