PDE Seminar (2018/11/16): Asymptotic behavior for systems of quasi-linear wave equations violating the null condition

We consider the Cauchy problem for systems of quasi-linear wave equations in two and three space dimensions. The null condition is a well-known sufficient condition for the small data global existence, and the solution is known to be asymptotically free under the null condition. In this talk, we will show the small data global existence under a weaker condition than the null condition. We will also show that there is a wide variety of the asymptotic behavior under this weaker condition.
