History of the Symposium
The Mathematical Aspects of Image Processing and Computer Vision (MAIPCV) was first held in 2000 in Sapporo at the suggestion of Professor Koichiro Deguchi of Tohoku University and Professor Yoshikazu Giga of Hokkaido University.
Also, Professor Shyuichi Izumiya and Professor Yoshihiro Tonegawa of Hokkaido University have been members of the organizing committee since the 2002 and 2004 symposium respectively.
Even though MAIPCV is a small symposium, it is still an international symposium except the first one and has been held both at Sapporo Guest House and Hokkaido University.
